At 15 kms to the south of the town of Clermont-Ferrand, this medieval village with it’s very ancient origins is part of the National Park known as "Le Parc des Volcans d'Auvergne" (The Volcanic Park of the Auvergne). It is situated on a non active lava flow between the Serre mountain, observation point for the passage of migrating birds, and the Monne valley, at the foot of the Olloix plateau which offers panoramic views of the Puy de Dome and the Sancy mountain ranges.

You need to stay at the terrace of the chateau to discover the exceptional beauty of the site : a set of preserved hills and plateaux which overlook the village of Saint-Saturnin and encircle the park of the château.

It has been dominated for more than seven hundred years by the presence of a magical duo: the village church and the château of Saint-Saturnin, both built with the same materials. A great sense of harmony and mutual protection eminates from these two majestic buildings.

The village of Saint-Saturnin is part of the association" Les Plus Beaux Villages de France".
