The guided visit is aimed at helping the visitor to appreciate the context of the Royal Chateau by tracing the important personalities who have been directly associated with it at various times throughout it's history. In addition the visitor will be able to get some understanding of the medieval architecture so well illustrated by this fortified château. Finally the influence of different periods of history and particularly that of the Renaissance on the evolution of the chateau will become apparent as the visit progresses.

It finally allows the visitor to take a step back in history by discovering the typical daily life at the end of the Middle Ages and during the period of the Renaissance. 

  The visit starts inside The Keep.

  • At the bottom (1)

  • Upstairs (2 et 3)

  The visit follows outdoors with the following features.

  • The moat

  • The Terraces (5), with views to the gardens

  Unique opportunity to also discover a magical site.

  It then continues into the heart of the château where the visit includes.

  • The Royal Banquet Hall (6)

  • The Queens Tower (7)

  • The red tiled sitting room (8)

  • Not to forget a mention of the wooden roof beams (charpente) dating from the XVth. century (9)

It ends in the Courtyard of Honnor (4) in order to discover the different steps of construction and modification of the buildings.
